LIFE by Be Caring is looking to recruit experienced Support Workers to join our learning disabilities team across Newcastle and Gateshead. As a Support Worker you will support our customers to live happy and fulfilled lives within their local communities.

Ensuring individual personal support needs are met through person-centred tailored support that promotes inclusion, independence and positive well-being.

We require Support Workers who have a real passion of delivering person centred support, a nurturing and kind individual who has the ability work effectively to help the individual to meet their full potential.

Pay: £11.50 p/hr (non-complex rate) - £12.00 p/hr (complex rate)

We have various learning disabilities Support Worker roles available:

  • Outreach services across Newcastle and Gateshead
  • Independent Supported Living services - Newcastle (Lemington) & Gateshead (Lobley Hill)

As a Support Worker, you will be kind and compassionate building caring and supportive relationships with the individual you support and their families.   • Be engaging, calm, and have a can-do attitude, learning and adapting with the individual you’re supporting
  • Be a great communicator, listening to the individual to understand their wants, needs, dreams and ambitions.
  • Have the individual’s best interests in everything you do, protecting their dignity
  • Be a motivator, encouraging and guiding the individual to take small but brave steps towards learning new skills, meeting new people and attending local community groups
  • Support the individual to become as independent as they can, making their own choices and decisions

Training

  • Paid induction training: classroom-based, includes shadowing and additional online modules.
  • Additional learning disabilities, autism and mental health training: provided to all new recruits - equipping you to meet the needs of our customers and enabling you to provide tailored, personalised support. Training delivered by our amazing registered nurse Debs.
  • Training development: funded Level 2 and other accredited courses.
